At the Summer Solstice - Between Old Paths and New Beginnings

Today we celebrate the summer solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year. For thousands of years this special moment has been a festival of light, life and the remembrance that everything within the cycle of becoming, being and passing away is deeply connected.

For me, this solstice had already begun yesterday with a journey through my own past.

I made a round through my home district of Neureut and visited places that have stayed with me since my youth. Of particular importance to me were the two burial mounds: one in the Tiefgestade that only became visible again after archaeological work, and another that was later built around. These places radiate a special stillness for me and remind me how many generations before us lived, loved, hoped and dreamed beneath the same sun.

Along the way the journey also led me to the large tree stump that has gained a special meaning for me over time. There I took time for meditation, listened to the wind in the trees and allowed my thoughts to settle. Around the solstice one feels especially clearly how closely we are bound to nature and its cycles.

After that I also visited the bird park. Among its many feathered residents I was able to experience the atmosphere of this day once more in a very particular way. It may sound unusual to some, but I wished the birds there a blessed solstice. After all, they are the ones who remind us every morning with their song that each new day is a gift.

A new light for Myrddin-Gwais

The solstice does not stand only for celebrating the present moment, but also for change and new beginnings.

That is why I am using this special moment to give my blog a new foundation as well.

Over the coming weeks Myrddin-Gwais.de will gradually move from WordPress to TYPO3. This shift is far more than a technical migration. It is an opportunity to rethink the platform from the ground up and build it exactly as I have long imagined it.

Many functions that were previously handled by external extensions will in future be replaced by in-house development. Instead of relying on numerous third-party plugins, a custom environment is emerging that is shaped precisely around the needs of this project.

This is not only about technology. It is about independence, creativity and the ability to realize new ideas without artificial limits.

Just as the solstice marks the height of light, this step is meant to mark the beginning of a new phase of growth for Myrddin-Gwais.

I look forward to sharing this path with you and discovering together what new possibilities may arise from it.
